The Noble Deoxo Catalyst combines oxygen with hydrogen (catalystically under reducing condition) to form water vapor and operates at temperature from –40°C to approximately 600°C. The gases treated may be hydrogen or any inert gas in which there is a quantity of hydrogen approximately 0.25 % v.v. minimum in excess of stoichiometric. Such inert gases can include Nitrogen, Argon, Helium and the other noble gases, Carbon Dioxide etc. The maximum recommended oxygen removal is 3 % per pass.
The removal of gaseous impurities by chemical reaction over a catalyst is normally accompanied by the release of heat i.e. it is an exothermic reaction.
Approximately 235°C theoretical temperature rises for removal of 1 % v/v oxygen from Argon.
Please note that although the theoretical temperature rises will provide a good guide to the Catalyst Purifier’s exit temperature, the actual temperature will depend on the heat capacities of the other gases present and the heat losses to the temperature.
Noble Deoxo Catalyst is Tablets (3 mm x 3 mm) and Spheres (2 mm to 4 mm) size.
